let's put an end to this hiatus baby! The Burger Joint! need i say more? awww...

i've mentioned it already on my previous posts that i am one hell of a burger lover (lol). so here's another burger story to tell. karingkay (way back when we were still friends) and i had this agreement that if he can paint me a skull then i will buy him a burger at The Burger Joint in Mabolo with an extra serving of their famous onion rings. i am a huge burger joint fan and this is not the first time that i've eaten here. this time though, i wanna write about it. going back, i can say that i am a kindhearted and loving person (clears throat), so i understand if he won't be able to finish the said painting right away. his birthday came, so i gave in.

Burger Joint's char-grilled burgers are the bomb! it is definitely worth every penny. if there's a burger that i would want to eat before i die, it would be burger joint's burger (this is me exaggerating again lol). trust me, i've eaten a lot of overpriced burgers already and my heart will always go back to where it belong.

it has been a couple of months since i've been trying to locate sabel's pocherohan in the map of cebu. geez, i am that bad with directions. but thankfully and luckily, just this month, pedor and i finally got the chance to visit the place. i believe it was the weather that pushed us to locate the place. when it's always raining like today, a bowl of pochero will not only warm your tummy but also your heart. aw!

not only will they offer you a heart warming meal but they will also make you feel special. imagine this: when we went there around 12 noon for lunch, we got serenaded  by a live band like it's valentines day. and yes, it is still july.  the live band who played classic songs was definitely a bonus.

one of those days where i felt like swimming through a pool of spices and herbs then fill my tummy at the same time. 

i knew Vibe's Gourmet was the right place to be. this place may look like your regular carenderia but no, they're not serving regular meals. they serve dishes with authentic spices and i'm a confessed sucker for their bagoong rice.

what i love most about this place is that they are normally open during the wee hours. after a couple of beers and if your tummy is already looking for food, an appetizing gourmet meal can be ordered here. what's more interesting about this place is that you can order a gourmet meal for less than a hundred bucks..ahmm, i mean pesos. awesomest! (if there's such a word)

'twas jogen's time to go. between a stressful work and being a mother, she decided to become a full time mom instead for baby jayden. right choice at the right time. we celebrated jogen's send off party at Captain A's Seafood Grill: home of the boodle fight experience. aside from her despedida, the super cutie baby jayden was also introduce to us.

Boodle fight is a military style of eating where long tables are prepared and food are on top of the banana leaves. Viands and rice ready to eat using your bare hands, jugs of water are prepared on the side to wash hands before the "eating combat". With the signal to start the boodle fight, everyone aims for his/her position. ~from urban dictionary

what other great way to remember and enjoy shared memories before parting ways than to have it with  a scrumptious meal.  manileng, a co-worker/teamate/friend was leaving us/the company that day. but no, surely that wasn't goodbye. it was more like a "see you around" send off party.

we had it at Co Jordan Pond and Seafood restaurant. where, not only we got to enjoy succulent food but we also got to test our patience through fishing. well, that day was also the day i discovered that fishing is really not for me. eating, maybe.

january was obviously pedor's month. so, when his birthday came i decided to treat him with one of his favorites. burgers! yeah. this ain't no ordinary burger though. we had brunch at irie gastropubliko and i had him indulge in irie's angus burger. but wait...there's more. check out his order.

(the burger's name got porn on it, so this has definitely caught his attention. lols. - just my guess, shhhh). bacon porn comes with classic angus, bacon, bacon jam, cheddar, house ketchup, sour cream and bacon bites. he has gotten not only one but two of his favorites (sooo lucky that guy). it was like heaven with a whole lotta bacon on it.

because it wasn't my birthday, i went with the simpler one. :)  i ordered their classic angus with lettuce, onion, cheese, and brioche bun and i requested for an extra cheddar cheese

an escape from the stressful life of the city, pedor and i went back to camotes island last december for a 3-day getaway. i planned out everything on that trip including where to take our lunch on the second day, lol. and so we went to pito's sutukil at santiago bay because pedor wanted to try out pito's sashimi and mainly because i haven't been there though i already visited camotes before. by the way, sutukil stands for sugba (grilled), towa (soup) and kilaw (ceviche). here are some of the foods that went through our tummy that day :)
